The anti-passback is designed to minimize the misuse or fraudulent use of access credentials such as passing back the card to an unauthorized person, or tailed access. Only one person can pass the access point after authentication. This function is mainly used for enhanced access security of some important or specific places (e.g., laboratories, offices).
You can configure area anti-passback rules or route anti-passback rules for different scenarios. Go to .
A person with an entry record must also have an exit record to re-enter or exit the area. The area anti-passback function creates a specific door group. For example, when a person enters the area by swiping a card, they must exit through a door in the same group. If they exit without swiping at a door in the group, they cannot re-enter through any door in the group.
Make sure you have added the access points to different areas. For details, refer to Add Element to Area.
Control anti-passback by selecting specific doors through which people are allowed to enter and exit.
Suitable for general environments. For example, a small office building with a few entry and exit points, where the security system needs to ensure that employees enter and exit through designated doors.
Control anti-passback by the rules set by the platform. By setting a rule that requires specified personnel to enter and exit through the same door during fixed time periods, you can ensure that only authorized personnel access these areas during the specified times. For example, from 8 PM to 6 AM every day, only specific on-duty personnel can enter and exit the data center, and they must do so through the same door.
If you select this option, check Enable Rule Now. In the Rule Configuration step, you can:
Select persons who should enter and exit through the same door.
Select doors through which people are allowed to enter and exit.
Specify the times during the week when people should follow the entry and exit order.
Select doors by which people are allowed to enter and exit. You need to assign entry/exit readers with either combination: Card Reader 01 (Entry) + Card Reader 02 (Exit) or Card Reader 02 (Entry) + Card Reader 01 (Exit).
Only available when selecting Control Anti-Passback by Device. If you check it, a single entry can be associated with multiple exits, i.e., Entry A → Exit C/D.
Persons must authenticate through a configured sequence of doors in one direction. The route anti-passback depends on the card swiping route. Set up a card reader sequence for access control, defining initial and subsequent card readers to enforce anti-passback based on stored entry and exit data.
Control anti-passback by setting the card reading order people should follow for entry and exit.
Suitable for general environments. For example, you need to ensure that employees enter and exit through designated route from Card Reader 1 to Card Reader 2.
Set the order that people follow for entry and exit. The direction indicated by the arrow represents the direction of entry and exit.
Set the first card reader in the route to the first card reader. If you violate the route anti-passback rule, you should swipe the card again from the first card reader.
Set a fixed time so that the platform can forgive the anti-passback violations occurred in this group automatically everyday.
Set a fixed time during which persons can access the area without following the rule. This function should be supported by the device.
Click the group name to edit the anti-passback group settings.
You can edit the name of the group, add or delete doors in the group, change the settings of forgiving anti-passback violation regularly, and edit the locations of the group and doors on the map.
Select the group(s), click Set Forgiving Anti-Passback Regularly, and specify a fixed time so that the platform can automatically forgive the anti-passback violations occurred in the selected anti-passback group(s) at that time everyday.
You can also select the group(s) and click Cancel Forgiving Anti-Passback Regularly to cancel the settings of the selected group(s).
